Every Story Deserves to Be Understood. Our evaluations are grounded in care, not judgment.

Assessments

  • Diagnostic Assessments

Clarifying the path forward begins with understanding.

At GMNTC, we provide comprehensive diagnostic assessments for children, adolescents, and adults.
Our assessments are designed to evaluate emotional, behavioral, cognitive, and developmental functioning.
Through clinical interviews, psychological testing, and behavioral observations, we develop a clear understanding of a client's strengths, challenges, and diagnostic needs.
Each assessment concludes with a detailed written report and personalized recommendations to guide treatment planning, school supports, or next steps in care.
We are committed to making the assessment process thorough, compassionate, and accessible.

  • Parental Capacity Evaluations

Supporting child safety and family outcomes through comprehensive evaluation.

Our Parental Capacity Evaluations (PCEs) provide objective, trauma-informed assessments of a parent’s ability to safely meet the physical, emotional, and developmental needs of their child.
PCEs are commonly requested in child protection, custody, or reunification cases to assist decision-making around parenting time, service needs, and permanency planning.

    Each evaluation includes:

    Clinical interviews with the parent

    Psychological testing as appropriate

    Review of collateral records

Observation of parent-child interactions (when indicated)

A detailed written report with clear, actionable recommendations

GMNTC’s evaluations are grounded in best practices and focused on the best interests of the child, while offering respectful and fair evaluation of parents' strengths, challenges, and progress.

  • Sibling Separation Evaluations

Helping to guide decisions that protect sibling bonds — or recognize necessary separation.

Sibling Separation Evaluations at GMNTC assess the quality and significance of the relationship between siblings involved in child welfare, foster care, or custody cases.
We evaluate whether maintaining sibling relationships is in the children's best interests, or if separation may be warranted based on individual needs, safety concerns, or relationship dynamics.
    Each evaluation includes:

Individual interviews with each child (age-appropriate)

    Joint observations of sibling interactions

Collateral information from caregivers, providers, and case records

A written report with recommendations for placement, visitation, and permanency planning

We approach these evaluations with deep sensitivity to the developmental importance of sibling relationships, balanced with each child's need for safety, stability, and emotional wellbeing.

  • Other Evaluations

At GMNTC, we recognize that some situations require unique or specialized evaluation services.
Our team offers flexible assessment options tailored to the specific questions or concerns of referring providers, caregivers, or agencies.
These evaluations may address emotional, behavioral, relational, or functional needs that do not fall within our standard categories.

If you're unsure which type of evaluation is appropriate, we're happy to consult with you and help determine the best next step.
